Information
Vertical Ruy takes place in the Ruy Mountains on the territory of the municipality of Tran. The start location is in the village of Zelenigrad, which is located about 90 km west of Sofia. Plan at least 1,30 hours for travelling by car from Sofia to Zelenigrad.

Important parking information!
Do not drive with your cars into Zelenigrad. Park before reaching Zelenigrad parallel to the road. Plan about 15-20 minutes to walk from where you will park to the centre of the village, where the start will be given at 10:30 am.
Important information about the competition venue!
Vertical Ruy takes place in a border area. The final of the competition is on Mount Ruy, which is located on the border of Bulgaria and Serbia. Be sure to bring your ID card!
Important information when using a mobile phone!
Vertical Ruy takes place in a border area and therefore the coverage of mobile networks is very often hampered. Please note that it is not uncommon for mobile operators from Serbia to have a stronger signal than Bulgarian ones. Serbia is not in the European Union and call and data charges are extremely high. We recommend turning off the „mobile data“ feature on your phones, and exercising caution when receiving and making calls. Always check that you are using the services of a Bulgarian provider while in the Ruy Mountains.

Organizer
The organizer of the Vertical Ruy is the Tran Tourist Association. It was established in 2017. Despite its short existence, it has achieved most of its original goals. Among them are the identification, cleaning and marking of nearly 130 km of new hiking routes in the mountains on the territory of the municipality of Tran. Currently, the Association is among the most active non-governmental tourist organizations in Bulgaria. Thanks to the efforts of the members of the Association, every weekend, regardless of the season, the tourist attractions in the region of Tran are visited by more and more people.
