Course description
You start from the center of the village of Turokovtsi. You head along a paved street in the direction of the village of Zabel. After about 0.5 km the asphalt ends and the route continues on a dirt road which, after another roughly 200 m, leaves the village. You continue across open meadows, along the boundary between the mountain and the plain, and 2.6 km after the start you reach the village of Zabel.
Here the route crosses the paved road and continues toward the village of Zelenigrad on a scenic dirt road. You reach the village after 1.7 km, and then there is a right turn and uphill along the paved road that passes through the village and which, after 0.7 km, turns into a dirt road. The road passes beneath the rocks of the impressive rocky massif Shilyi Kamik, after which it enters the forest. 1.9 km after the village, the route leaves the dirt road and turns right and uphill toward Ruy Peak on a forest trail. The first 1.5 km are gentle and runnable, and the trail passes close to a small stream that is suitable for cooling off. This is followed by a little over 1 km of a very steep climb through an impressive beech forest. After that, the route continues along the grassy ridge of the Ruy Mountain. After about 1.4 km you reach the highest point of the course, namely Ruy Peak (1706 m). The last section is a true delight for the senses, with incredible views in all directions. We recommend that participants who are not chasing a ranking to take a few seconds from time to time to enjoy the 360-degree panoramas. From Ruy Peak follows the only very steep descent toward Ruy Hut, passing also over the no less scenic and beautiful Orlovets Peak. After about 1.5 km you reach Ruy Hut, where the aid station is located. After the hut, you continue on a dirt road toward the village of Zabel. The first 2 km are relatively flat, alternating gentle climbs and gentle descents. You continue along the dirt road for another 1.5 km with a gentle descent to the junction “Piketa,” where the route turns left. After the junction there is a short flat section, followed by a short descent to the next junction. Here, on a narrow trail, the route continues steeply uphill toward Mali Ruy Peak (1374 m). This is the last steep section, only 0.5 km long. From Mali Ruy the descent toward the finish begins, with the first 2.5 km on a pleasant grassy trail with incredible panoramic views. The last 2.5 km are on a dirt road, and the final 300 m are on a paved street in the village of Turokovtsi.
